In preparation for the September 2005 National Disaster Preparedness Month, Continuity First is working with the National Capital Region Emergency Preparedness Campaign to train Northern Virginia residents on how to take simple steps that will increase their ability to respond to a catastrophic event.
Continuity First is training local government and civic association leaders on how to help their community complete family emergency plans and prepare disaster kits. These trained volunteers are now going out into their areas and teaching families how to become better prepared for disasters.
“Supporting this initiative is core to Continuity First’s belief in giving back to the community by helping others become better prepared for disasters,” Sue Kerr, Continuity First Co-President.
