Before co-founding Continuity First, Inc., Sue Kerr was a senior manager in charge of crisis management for Capital One. She is currently a member of the board that develops and promulgates standards practices for the business continuity management industry.

Sue has experience in all aspects of business continuity planning and her extensive operational knowledge enables her to apply business continuity principles to day-to-day operations. Her leadership helped Capital One, a Fortune 500 bank with 49.1 million accounts and $81.6 billion in managed loans, rebound after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Hurricane Isabel, wildfires and other incidents.

Sue is affiliated with Disaster Recovery Institute International and the Business Recovery Association of Virginia and serves as secretary of the Old Dominion Chapter of the Association of Contingency Planners. Sue is currently working with two groups sponsored by Disaster Recovery Institute International and the Disaster Recovery Journal to define and develop standards for the business continuity industry. Dedicated to giving back to the community, Sue also volunteers for the Local Emergency Planning Committees.

A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Sue earned a Bachelors of Science degree with a concentration in Information Systems. She also earned a Masters Certificate from the Project Management Institute at George Washington University. She has been a Certified Business Continuity Planner since 1998.

During her tenure at a top credit card issuer, Patrice managed resilience strategies for hundreds of applications covering all major platforms. Her experience also includes management of ongoing multi-million dollar business continuity projects.

Patrice has acquired vast experience in all aspects of Business Continuity Planning, including Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity Management, Program Implementation and Governance, Plan Development, Training, Exercising and Maintenance.
